I'm not 100% sure, but it seems to happen if I try to do something immediately after I've hit save, but before the program has finished saving (and given that I now hit save reflexively every minute or so, in order to no lose my work when the program crashes, it's almost impossible to avoid). Anybody with te same issue or suggestions for how to get rid of the problem?!?!! This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled. Hi, Yesterday, experienced a specific file which would consistently cause my Photoshop CC to crash on save. The usual workarounds of duplicating layers to a new document and saving that did not work. While working with the file, my iMac (late 2012) visibly struggled with performance in PS — it would easily take 10-20s for any change to update on-screen. This led me to suspect that the issue was systemic, and after some experimenting I found the culprit: The file (4316x3152) in question contains 1 group of several nested groups, many of which contain layers or groups with added layer effects such as large glows or drop shadows (100px+). It turned out that the file (created by one of our juniors) had a large dropshadow effect applied to the parent group — removing this layer effect fixed the crash problem, and completely fixed the performance issues. A colleague working on Windows did not experience the crash. I have the problem EVERY time I try to save or save as on my MacBook Pro 10.13.6 High Sierra - I can't get anything done! Many of you who have upgraded to Adobe Photoshop CC 2015 have found that the Save For Web option will no longer be supported and this is a problem. You can now find it under File - Export - Save For Web Legacy. Some users are finding they no longer have any option to use Save For Web any more. Others have the option, but functionally it does not perform like it did in the past for some reason. I have found it problematic to save down PNG files compared to previous versions of Photoshop. As Save For Web is no longer going to be supported, this is going to be a real problem for many of those that are concerned with website page load speeds, mobile optimization, online advertising file size restrictions and more. The first VERY nice alternative for Apple OSX is Image Alpha: The second is called Color Quantizer: Both of these are very great temporary alternatives. It would be nice if Adobe came up with a solution to Save For Web before shelving it for the Generate function. Let me know what you think. I hope this helps you in the short term like it as helped me.
